This was a complete, bulldoze-everything-down-to-the-foundation redesign of a commercial site. Action K9 Sports was making a major shift in the way that they advertised and delivered content to their customers. The company moved away from more traditional advertising methods (magazines, yellow pages, newspaper, etc) and focused instead on its web presence. Action K9 Sports is soon to be featured in a documentary on the Discovery channel, and it wanted to update its commercial image and web presence to coincide with the release of the documentary. The client needed a modern and more organized look for its website in addition to the ability to manage absolutely everything on its web pages without the assistance of a webmaster nor any knowledge of web technologies.
We used a fairly standard LAMP platform; The client has a fully-customized CMS back-end that controls all verbiage and dynamically updates the pages with the latest content. The back-end interface is simple and straightforward, mimicking the look and feel of microsoft word and automagically managing updates to the content and photography.
Technologies used: PHP5, MySQL, PEAR (including a DB abstraction layer and a pagination class), on-the-fly thumbnail generation class, css, actionscript, and flash.
Boo. Yah.
